Giving Season 2026 runs from November 16 to December 31. It is a series of themed EA Forum events about effective giving, funding gaps, and how the EA community should use its resources.
The series includes weeks on marginal funding and funding strategy, a debate week on how much of EA’s resources should go to making AI go well, a week of personal stories about giving, and a closing banner celebrating end-of-year donations.
Dates | Event |
| Nov 16-22 | Marginal Funding Week |
| Nov 23-29 | Funding Strategy Week |
| Nov 30-Dec 6 | EA and AI: Debate Week |
| Dec 7-13 | |
| Dec 14-20 | ‘Why I donate’ week |
| Dec 21-27 | |
| Dec 28-EOY | Donation Celebration |
Unlike 2023 to 2025, Giving Season 2026 has no Donation Election. The Forum team found that theme weeks produced more useful discussion than the election did. The team also estimated that Marginal Funding Week drove most Giving Season donations in past years. Alongside the scheduled weeks, the Forum team plans to run AMAs, debate posts, and discussion threads.
