Dear EA Community,

I’m thrilled to announce that I have recently been appointed as the Director of Research at Plateau State University (PLASU), Nigeria. This is an exciting opportunity to lead and foster research development, build capacity, and encourage innovation across various fields. As someone deeply committed to impactful research, I see this role as a platform to expand and enhance the research ecosystem both locally and globally.

My Vision: In this leadership role, my key focus areas will include:

Strengthening Research Capacity:I will prioritize running workshops, training programs, and mentorship initiatives for postgraduate students and early-career researchers to help them navigate the complexities of academia and build their research skills.

Fostering Collaborative Research:I aim to create opportunities for collaboration with global research communities, institutions, and experts, particularly in areas like health, climate resilience, agriculture, and education, to tackle critical global and local challenges.

Promoting Interdisciplinary Research:By encouraging partnerships across departments and fields, I hope to drive more innovative and holistic solutions to complex problems affecting our communities and the world.

How You Can Get Involved: As a long-time member of the EA community, I deeply value collaboration and collective impact. Here are ways the community can help move this vision forward:

Collaborative Projects:I am eager to partner with researchers and institutions on projects across disciplines, from global health and education to environmental sustainability and technology.

Mentorship and Advice:If you have experience in research leadership, running large-scale programs, or developing innovative research solutions, your guidance and mentorship would be invaluable.

Funding Leads: Building research capacity in a growing institution like PLASU requires support. If you know of any grant opportunities or organizations that support research development, capacity-building initiatives, or exchange programs, I’d greatly appreciate any leads.

Institutional Collaboration:If you’re looking for institutions to collaborate with on impactful projects, I’m happy to explore how PLASU can support and engage in meaningful partnerships.

Join Our Research Initiatives:For those with shared interests in emerging research fields, whether related to health, education, or technology, I welcome discussions on how we can collaborate and develop impactful projects together.

Why This Matters:

Strengthening research capacity and fostering innovation in under-resourced settings has the potential to address urgent global challenges while empowering local communities. By advancing research excellence at PLASU, we can contribute to solving problems in health, education, environmental sustainability, and more, benefiting both Nigeria and the global research community.

I’m excited to continue collaborating with this inspiring community of problem-solvers. Please feel free to reach out if you’re interested in working together, sharing insights, or exploring funding possibilities. I look forward to hearing your thoughts and ideas!

Warm regards,
Nnaemeka Emmanuel Nnadi

Hey Emmanuel,

This is great! I am the incoming director of research for Ambitious Impact - I'll try to reach out via email over the next few weeks with some thoughts on how we can trade notes.

Hi Morgan,

Thanks for reaching out! That sounds great – I’d be happy to connect and exchange ideas. Looking forward to your email.

Thanks so much Emmanuel that's great news.

Thanks for sharing this here and staying engaged. I know you've been a bit frustrated in the past by the lack of response you have had to various posts here, and I appreciate that you're still with us :D.

Thanks Nick for your kind words! I am learning more about the EA community. I will grow with the community and hope to make much impact to my community as much as possible.
