Is there any funding available for (non x-risk) work on improving trajectories of the long-term future?

I am seeking funding for work on research that is in the same broad category as “the long reflection.” Essentially, research on how we can get to the best future possible. My understanding from his recent 80,000 hours podcast and subsequent quick-take is that William MacAskill is working on similar research ("better futures" and "viatopia" - of which the long reflection is an example,) and that he has said the type of work he is doing is not eligible for funding through Good Ventures/OpenPhil.

Can anyone confirm whether this is accurate and would apply to my research, and if so, is there anyone else likely to be open to funding this type of research?
