The Centre for the Governance of AI (GovAI) is an AI governance research center.

History

GovAI was founded in 2018, as part of the Future of Humanity Institute. In June 2021, it became an independent organization.^[1]

Funding

As of July 2022, GovAI has received nearly $3 million in funding from Open Philanthropy^[2], over $600,000 from the Survival and Flourishing Fund, ^[3][4] and over $170,000 from Effective Altruism Funds.^[5]
